Carrying Water for the Enemy

You’re on the Bridge on the River Kwai. Remember the classic WWII movie about the persistent British Colonel who stood for the Geneva Convention, the rule of law, against the Japanese POW Camp Commandant who tortured him but ended up giving in to his consistent stand? A story about a victory for standing for the rule of law, but there’s a twist. After that victory, the British Colonel loses sight of the big picture – the Japanese Army is his nation’s enemy. As POWs, his men work on the bridge over the River Kwai, which will bring war material to assist the British Colonel’s enemy. The qualities that caused success in his stand for “the rule of law” are now used to advance the cause of his enemy. At the end, after fighting his American ally’s attempt to destroy the bridge, he comes to his senses, asking, “What have I done?,” and destroys the bridge.

Now that in America, the forces of anti-law, anti-constitution, and anti-marriage have captured the legal system using the federal courts, we all, especially us lawyers who stand for “the rule of law,” must like that British Colonel POW, work to ensure same sex marriage is, like traditional marriage, “held in honor by all.” It’s the law, right? Work, Christians, on the bridge, to ensure the success of a law order that will place helpless children in homosexuals’ homes, that will force custody decisions in favor of homosexuals, that will ensure your children are taught to respect homosexuality. Work to ensure those “bigots” who think homosexuality a crime are put out of business, work to ensure the law of Almighty God never again invades the territory of our great American legal system. Break your bible chains; you have nothing to lose but your soul!
