Criminal Justice 1
Interestingly, the first reference in the law of Moses to the eye-for-an-eye principle is with respect to a law that could apply to abortion.
“If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.” Exodus 21:22-25.

Robin Hood with Russell Crowe
Robin Hood with Russell Crowe
I found this movie fascinating. It tried to give the historical and political underpinnings for the real person, if he was real, Robin Hood. I liked it, even though it rarely referred to the Christian faith of the parties who pressured King John into signing the Magna Carta. In fact, the only one relying upon God was King John, who referred to the divine right of kings. Thus, the movie shows the skewed view, no, the ignorance of the modern world: That the only Christian influence upon history was in favor of tyrannical kings, while freedom was something invented by humans, not instilled in humans by the gospel.

The high court says they’re okay with the town meeting prayers, as long as the city invites other religions and not just the clergy of the Christian religion.
We in 20th century America are accustomed to the Christian religion being primary; however, for most of human history, the major religions of the world have not been the Christian religion. The religion of Rome, Greece, and many Continue reading “America’s Established Religion is Polytheism”
